The "Monster Art Club Contest" is an art competition organised and promoted by Ducati with the aim of highlighting and rewarding the creative talent of the Desmo Owners Clubs – who better to interpret the character and distinctive look of the Ducati Monster?
The Monster has always been a style icon within the motorcycling world and has also been a source of inspiration for artists, fashion houses and celebrities who have recognised its unique, unmistakable personality.
No other bike comes close to the Monster’s capacity for customisation, which can only enhance its beautiful, distinctive look.
The contest requires participants to customise a Monster kit supplied by Ducati, made up of 2 tank covers, 1 front mudguard, 1 nose fairing and 1 seat cover, which they can customise freely using the technique of their choice and then fit onto a Monster 696 and/or Monster 1100.
The contest is open to all DOCs in the official DOC 2009 programme only, having sent their application by 31 May 2009.
From 27 August to 31 October 2009 all participants who have applied to take part in the contest can upload photos and videos of their works of art onto this website.
From 2 September to 31 October visitors to the website will form the public jury. They are entitled to one anonymous vote each, as described fully in the guidelines on the website.
Then, from 2 to 5 November, an expert jury, including Ducati representatives selected from the departments involved in the Monster project, will make its decision. The expert judges will award a special prize to one of the top ten works chosen by the public.
